Buying a hybrid will not save you money... (Sorry Justin!)
Everyone is looking to these to be our saving grace from the Gas prices these days. The reality is a good train, bus, sidewalk, and some European city planners would be a much better investment... But that's a totally different rant all together.
This one is for the hybrid which iMO doesn't live up to what it should with all the money that has been put into researching these things. Honestly 35-38mpg sucks. My Mom's 5 year old Diesel VW gets 50mpg and it’s larger, faster, and more comfortable. Now with this latest bit of common sense applied we see that you don't save money until somewhere around the 16th year of owning the vehicle. So like I've said for years just go buy a Honda Civic!

The downside to that article is that it assumes you'd be financing the car. Cash only baby.
But I wouldn't buy a hybrid anyway. The internal combustion engine is obsolete - it has been for decades. I want my freakin hydrogen car.
No it doesn't it at $506 dollars a year in saving and a $8000 higher price that's 15.8 years!! Cash has nothing to do with it. Now add the financing costs on top of that and your really in the red.
Cold Fusion man.
OH - they're saying these cars cost $8000 MORE than a nomral gas drinking car?
That's just retarded.
Hmmm - even if it was the cost of a normal car I still wouldn't buy it. I'm done with gas powered cars. Freakin fuel industry, auto manufactures and government regulating agencies are making a killing off each other... and killing progress in the process.
We should get Ron to go blow some stuff up in protest!
This is kinda like you saying you've quit smoking and drinking FOREVER... ;-)
We all know that if your cars died tomorrow you would go out and buy another one. Now would you like it? No. But at this point as much as you hate it you're reliant on gas just as much as the rest of us.
The "Man" truly has us down bro...
